Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit the Tudor House 'JustGiving' page.
Students at Sir Robert Pattinson Academy have been asked to participate in a house fundraising competition by the House (pastoral) team. Anyone wishing to participate (students and members of staff) has been told that they can choose any activity that they wish in order to raise money for our chosen charity- Cancer Research UK. Myself, and the house team, have offered suggestions to the students of some possible activities such as walking the length of a marathon across a week or participating in a danceathon, but ultimately the decision is their own. I will also be choosing my own activity in which to participate.
Each house will have their own fundraising page, just like this, where all money raised from that house will be collected together. The fundraising will last for the duration of this half term, starting from June 22nd and finishing July 19th. Anyone participating can choose when they want to do their activity, but July 19th will be the last day for donations to count towards the fundraising challenge.
Last year Tudor house chose Cancer Research as their charity they would be fundraising for. Cancer Research UK is dedicated to saving lives through research. Their mission is to prevent, control and cure cancer through their ground-breaking research and in the last 40 years their work has helped double survival rates. But there is more work to be done. As the only charity fighting over 200 types of cancer, they rely on every pound donated to help get us all closer to beating cancer.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students and members of the Tudor team to join together to try and raise as much money as possible for such a worthy cause. We feel that although we cannot be physically together at the moment, we can do something, as one body, to better the lives of those around us.
In accordance with GDPR guidelines, we would suggest that it would be better not to mention a student's name when making a donation and posting a comment on the fundraising page. However, this is at your own discretion. Students have been provided with a sponsorship form so they can keep this updated with their own individual sponsorship.
Thank you so much in advance for your support. We cannot wait to hear all about all of the fundraising activities.
Miss Clark (Deputy Head of Tudor House)
