Back in 2011 I volunteered for VSO in Tanzania and made life long friends with both UK and Tanzanian volunteers. Two of these volunteers, Michael and Inno, started a charity, after this experience, called TZ Rising which supports the complete education of Girls and young women in rural Tanzania.

In the past I have raised money for TZ Rising by doing Tough Mudders but wanted to do something bigger and wanted to travel to Tanzania again after 12 years. So now I am climbing Kilimanjaro. "Eliza is one of our most cherished women. Brought up by step parents after the death of her mother, she has since moved from home to home for shelter. She battled with a sinking depression in her teens that left her unable to continue education.. .and since then, now in her 20s, she has gave birth to a young beautiful baby called Charity.

Charity has brought light again into her world, and Eliza is a smiling, mature and hard working mother aspiring…

'I am ready to go to College. I want to work so hard to gain business skills because it is my dream to move out of this home where I am not treated well and live independently in a loving and peaceful home and community with my daughter. I also want to start a business so I can have a home for my family to be able all live together.’

(Currently Eliza serves as a house servant to a family who does not treat her with respect, and her step mother and fathers family live separately due to challenges)

Eliza is now 1 year into her business skills course in College including Hospitality Management and Cake Decoration. She is really loving being in education again and is motivated to create her future."

Your donations will pay for girls' tuition fees along with travel and all necessary support they needs during education up to college and afterwards. The money will also help all TZ Rising's other women around Tanzania pursue their dreams of University and a brighter future.
