Hey there! I am Fiza . I have taken part in a fundraising challenge event of penny appeal called the big half ( half marathon) . All the funds collected would go to EMERGENCY RESPONSE. Penny Appeal currently operates an emergency response initiative on the ground in five counties, but also provides life-saving aid to refugees who have fled to other countries. We have distinct areas of focus within each country, implementing projects that fit the specific needs of crisis-hit communities, depending on the specific circumstances that they face. We are currently working in Syria, Bangladesh, Gaza, Yemen, and Indonesia, providing emergency humanitarian aid to both victims of extreme violence and those who have been forced to flee their homes. While each country suffers its own diverse range of distinct issues, abject poverty and the desperate need for food, water, and medical aid are common factors and Penny Appeal teams are working indefatigably to provide support in as many areas as possible. Emergency aid is our top priority and getting people out of danger quickly remains of utmost importance; however, Penny Appeal is devoted to going beyond the rescue phase and has adopted a dual-phased approach to ensure that once in safety, these individuals are also supported in their recovery. We are proud to say that by adopting a holistic methodology to our work, we are able to ensure that we provide a rehabilitative service, securing a better future for those who are in such desperate need. Working within the communities, in some cases alongside local organisations, authorities and external stakeholders, we ensure that each and every one of our bespoke projects are culturally sensitive and suit the exact needs of the community.
At present, Penny Appeal is responding to the emergencies around the world through a dual-phased process: an emergency relief effort, followed by the provision of support and relief for vulnerable groups such as women and children. Both phases address high priority needs, starting with emergency relief, which provides essential food, water, and medical aid to those with immediate need. Phase 2 provides longer term, sustainable solutions to additional priority areas, as determined through constant assessment of the situation on the ground.
