Story

You can follow my progress and send me messages on my blog, which is here

My cellphone number is (001) 202 321 5295 - feel free to call me for a chat, and I'll call you back. Alternatively, you can email me at philgoddard1@btinternet.com.
I'm very keen to meet local people, and I welcome offers of accommodation.
If you're in the UK, I'm seven hours behind you.

I'm walking over 3,000 miles across America in memory of my wife Jayne, who died of cancer in January 2006. I started from New York on 25 June, and expect to take around eleven months to reach the west coast.

I'm collecting for the Association for International Cancer Research, which funds projects all over the world, including Britain and the United States.

If you're a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

If you're a US citizen, this site only accepts payments in pounds sterling. The exchange rate is almost exactly £0.50 to the dollar, so to give $20, enter £10. To give $50, enter £25. If you want an exact conversion,  please visit www.xe.com.

Many thanks for your support, and please give as generously as you can.

I've made a donation. Why doesn't my name appear on this site?
If you donate online, your name will appear on the list. Likewise, if you give me cash or a cheque made payable to me,  I make a corresponding online donation in your name. However, if you pay the money direct to AICR, the amount will appear  as part of the "amount raised offline".
