My Vegan Month · 16 February 2016

The Loss Foundation is a registered charity providing support for people who have lost their loved ones to cancer. We provide supportive bereavement services aimed at creating regular spaces for people to share stories and experiences with others who have experienced a similar kind of loss.

Story

Please sponsor me to do a vegan month... (19th Feb - 19th March)

I count bacon, eggs, cheese and Haribo among my closest friends, and so this will be as big a challenge for me as running a marathon is for most.

Having been educated on the huge health and environmental benefits veganism carries, I thought I'd give it a go before those four close friends start jeopardising my health.

I'm raising money for The Loss Foundation - a small charity, with a big heart - that supports people bereaved by cancer. Its aim is to help people during their bereavement by providing free support groups, social events, weekend retreats, information, and plenty of compassion and cake (not sure that it's vegan cake..). Having recently lost a friend to cancer and witnessed the profound and debilitating effects of grief, I think The Loss Foundation does an amazing thing in helping people make sense of something so unbearable.

The charity is, this year, raising money in order to meet their three main objectives: providing support groups, campaigning and furthering research into the impact of grief.

If you’d like to make a donation to The Loss Foundation I’d be very grateful, as it will help them provide support groups for the bereaved from cancer, to prevent isolation during their grief.

Thanks! x
