Story
Hello World!
This February I have decided to do a sponsored 100 mile run throughout the month (About 3.5 miles every day). I am doing this for Animal Cancer Trust as it a cause very close to my heart. Everyone who knows me or even looks at my social media accounts, will know I have a Black Labrador called Georgina.
Gina is 10.5 years old and 2 weeks before my first Vet School mock exams, the vets found she had a mast cell tumour on her neck. After this was removed, I thought the worst was over. Little did I know it was just the beginning.
The vets recommended an ultrasound for her and just a few days ago we received the diagnosis, Liver ans Spleen cancer. Unfortunately, this is inoperable and treatment may only make it worse as she is not the youngest dog out there.
As you can guess, this news has left me heartbroken because Gina is my everything. I have grown up with her, we share many memories of our adventures throughout our lives together and she is my best friend. We don't know how aggressive the cancer is, and we also don't know how long we have left with her.
Even though she is ill, she is not in any discomfort at the moment. She still loves her walks and running around on the beach, she loves sleeping on our beds and sofas and cuddling with her humans. Her battle is just beginning and so is mine.
I have decided to challenge myself by running 100 miles throughout February in order to raise money for animal cancer. I don't have a target goal (I had to set one for this page) but the more I can raise the closer we are to helping animals with this disease.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated no matter how small.
Love, Vici
