I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in September of this year. As many people may know I lost my beautiful daughter in 2014. My whole world fell apart. I've slowly rebuilt my life although there will always be that missing piece. We all miss her desperately. 

In 2013 Regane travelled  to Tanzania on a charitable mission and stayed at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro with a group from her school. There she visited schools and orphanages to teach them about Scottish Culture and she learned so much from the children there too. Since I lost Regane I've always thought about going to Tanzania, as I know how much she loved it and it held such a special place in her heart. We spoke about her going back and how she wanted to climb Kilimanjaro. This is why it means so much to me to do it.

I will be raising money for the Brightest Star Charity which helped me so much after Regane's death. I honestly don't think I would be where I am today without their support. Regane's two little brothers were also supported by them.

When you lose a child you don't know where to go for help, it's such a taboo subject as it really is a person's worst nightmare. You feel alone and isolated. Thankfully I found the Brightest Star three months after losing Regane. There needs to be more support for bereaved parents that why I hope to raise as much as I can for this charity. Child loss can happen to anyone but having support from this amazing charity made such a big difference. 

I will be organizing a fundraising night and other fundraising events in the run-up to my climb to help me reach my target. So please follow my page on Facebook.
