Story

On Sunday 16th October in memory of my brother Matthew on his birthday and to support my British Transplant Games team mate, Tyler Buckley, in celebrating his 10th anniversary since his transplant, I will be climbing Mount Snowden with my parents and members of the Alder Hey Kidney Fund Transplant Games Team.

Supported by the Alder Hey Kidney Fund since I was born, this is a perfect chance for me to give something back to the people who support kidney patients pre and post transplantation.

On 31st October this year I will celebrate my 9th Kidneyversary. My Dad donated his kidney to me in 2013 and now I am able to do this, enjoy my life and start to think about how I will celebrate my 10th anniversary next year.

Matthew was not so lucky and the research element the Fund contributes to is vital to ensuring many more people survive kidney failure going forwards.

Thank you for reading my story and please now consider:

A) sponsoring me to help others

B) having the conversation with your family around organ donation and getting an organ donor card.

I am really excited about raising the Alder Hey Team banner at the summit with my team mates and I will be thinking of Matthew all the way there.
