Story

DO SOMETHING EXTRAOARDINARY TODAY!

We are just three ordinary girls, who decided to do something ExtraOARdinary!

Abby, Kat and Charlotte all had a taste for adventure in the past couple of years and decided to push their boundaries and row the Atlantic as part of team ExtraOARdinary in 2021.

The Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is one of the world’s toughest endurance races, and the girls completed it in 42 days, 7 hours and 17 minutes, breaking a world record to become the fastest female trio to do so.

The team set off in December 2021 and rowed 3,000 miles from La Gomera in the Canary Islands to English Harbour, Antigua across the planet’s second largest ocean. Battling the elements, sea sickness, salt sores and constant sleep deprivation, we were motivated by our goal of raising money to turn the tide on cancer.

Like so many others, cancer has played a part in all of our lives, but in particular for our teammate Kat, who was diagnosed with the devastating disease in 2019 and despite being in remission for a period of time, is now battling the disease once again.

We are aiming to raise £100,000 for our three chosen charities Cancer Research UK, Macmillan Cancer Support and The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Every penny you donate will go towards these charities.
