Not long after Jeff's brother in law was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2006, he decided to start fundraising and immediately thought of completing the London Marathon. He signed up for the 2007 marathon and had the idea to invite fellow members of Wessex Male Choir to join and complete it together singing as they walked.

All 19 finished the 2007 London Marathon and sung hundreds of songs on the way around, raising a grand total of £33,000. Since then the choir have sung and fundraised at countless events and the total they have raised now stands at £65,000.

Following on from their marathon exploits the choir were invited to sing at the 2007 Parkinson's UK Christmas Concert, and were then honoured to be asked to be the patron choir for Parkinson's UK which they remain to this day.

When learning that the first ever London Half Marathon was planned for March 4th 2018, Jeff and his son Andy immediately thought to invite fellow members of the Wessex Male Choir to take part, and are happy to report that 25 have volunteered to take part.
