Welcome to my JustGiving page. I am fundraising for the RAF Benevolent Fund, who helped my family when my father,  a wartime night-fighter pilot, had Parkinson's disease before he died in 2012. 

In the 70th anniversary year after the end of the second world war (2015), I visited all 60 airfields in mainland Britain where my father landed during war. I drove a 1935 Singer Le Mans 9 Sports special in racing green - almost identical to the car he owned and loved in those days.  From Lossiemouth in Scotland to Portreath in Cornwall, I met the people who own and use these sites today, and have learned about the people, planes, technologies, and stories connected with these airfields. Many are disappearing. This is one way to remember their legacy - and my father's, and those who served in them. I visited the graves of my father's friends, who died in the cause of our freedom, and met those who carry on the living legacy within today's RAF. I learned that almost every airfield had its own surprise. For me it truly was the journey of a lifetime - of my lifetime and of many others. It continues - please join me!
