Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our justgiving page.
Women Who, Worcestershire was established in February 2019 by a group of local business women who missed the peer support that you get from being employed. We have been incredibly busy the last 2 years and the group has grown from 5 business members to 865 business members; all incredible women running businesses in Worcestershire. We pretty much have all bases covered, if you can't find the industry you are looking for in Women Who, Worcestershire, then it probably doesn't exist!
As well as supporting local businesses, we support local charities too, holding fundraising events to raise awareness and money for local causes.
This year we’re raising money for The Dawn Project, run by Worcester Community Trust through a series of online events and specially commissioned product sales. We hope to be able to hold an in person fundraiser towards the end of 2021, COVID regulations permitting.
The Dawn project is a confidential, non judgmental service for individuals who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence and abuse, coercion and control.
Dawn's ethos is to believe and empower, to validate feelings, to dispel myths around domestic abuse, and to enable victims and survivors to make informed decisions to make their own changes.
Dawn supports victims and survivors at all stages of abusive relationships. whether or not they are still living with a perpetrator.
Dawn provides a service tailored to the needs of each individual , with an emphasis on targeted and personalised specialist support.
Since 2017, the project has worked with 451 women in Worcestershire (note the project supports all victims, regardless of gender identity), empowered 400 women to leave relationships and enabled 600 children to live safer lives.
