Story
I'm terrified of flying, yet I'm doing a wing-walk with Yvette Chivers on top of a high speed aeroplane on Wednesday 7th October for World Sight Day. Gah!!
All proceeds go to RNIB, so please give generously.
I came up with the concept of Sound for Sight (soundforsight.com) after discovering that my friend Yvette had been diagnosed with a degenerative sight loss condition called retinitis pigmentosa.
This inherited disease causes gradual loss of vision, and leads to eventual blindness. Extensive research shows it is curable and that the treatment might be found within our lifetime.
So last year I decided to "go blind" for a week to raise money and awareness for RP. I ended my challenge with a concert, which was so good we're doing it again!
"I cannot think of a better cause than Sound for Sight" - Boris Johnson, Mayor of London
The event offers a unique experience to an audience who are visually impaired or choose to wear sight-loss simulators during the show to heighten the live experience by taking the focus away from the performance.
To mark this special event and to raise much-needed funds for RNIB.
Please sponsor as much as you can!
Many thanks,
Laura and Yvette xxx
