Story
On the 20th June myself and three colleagues from YCH will be taking on the Macmillan Cancer Support Golf Challenge at North Cliff Golf Course, Scarborough.
It is our intention to play 72 holes of golf – totaling four rounds – in one day. A typical round of golf takes approximately four hours and the distance travelled is usually between four and five miles. Subject to nice weather and a well-played round, it is usually an enjoyable process – though always tiring. Anyone who has played 36 holes of golf in one day will understand the physical and mental energy required to do this – few are foolish enough to head back out and play a further 36 holes.
We, however, are foolish. We cannot wait to blister our hands and feet in aid of such a good cause. In our endeavor to walk circa 20 miles over 20 hours or so, swinging our clubs over 500 times, we would like to raise as much money as possible. We hope that you can assist us in our endeavors.
