As you read this, you're probably in a warm place. A comfy room. A warm office. Right now, as I write this, I'm sitting in front of a heater.
Now, imagine that you don't have a heater. Or your radiators are freezing. Or you don't have socks or a coat to keep you warm.
And you can't afford it, because the breadwinner for the family is missing.
Could you survive?
Sadly, this is the situation that many of our brothers and sisters on our doorsteps are in.
The onset of winter fills them with dread. Anxiety surrounding the escalating costs of energy bills. Affording appropriate clothing. Dealing with longstanding health issues, exacerbated by the cold.
This is where HHUGS steps in.
Last winter, with your support,
• Sulaiman didn’t have to spend another night in his car but finally had a roof over his head
• Aunty Khadijah’s home was no longer stone cold as she was now able to afford to heat her home.
• Yusuf didn’t have to face the cold because the warm coat and decent shoes you provided protected him from the harsh season
This year, I'll be embracing the cold so that they won't have to.
I'll be Walking in their Shoes on the 25th of February 2018 in support of our families.
