Fibromyalgia symptoms include pain throughout the body, extreme tiredness (fatigue), lack of restorative sleep, cognitive problems, nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. It is a chronic condition with no known cure, so it is important for those living with fibromyalgia to receive the right support and long-term treatment options to help them to manage the symptoms.

Jennifer: I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia after experiencing symptoms for over 5 years. Because it is so poorly understood, it took a long time to find the right doctor who understood my symptoms and could tell me what was wrong. Unfortunately there is no known cure, and I am learning how to manage the symptoms as best as I can. I am lucky to have a supportive husband, family and friends and a supportive employer. It can be hard, but I am determined to remain positive whilst accepting my limitations.

We decided to take part in the Weybridge 10k to raise money for Fibromyalgia Action UK to raise awareness and contribute to the work the charity is doing to provide support and improve treatment options for those living with fibromyalgia.
