This last year my dad has been battling cancer. Last week with him coming into his sixth week in hospital, & my mum staying to care for him overnight, their house was burgled. The burglars would've had to negotiate various pieces of kit required for dads care, including his hospital bed to access the items they stole. Personal items aside, a particular low was discovering they'd stolen a collection we'd raised through various fundraising efforts for Sam Beare hospice.
