Now, I love a few things. I love my wife, my son, music, movies, Newcastle United and Doctor Who. Oh yes, I love Doctor Who!

Doctor Who turned 50 last year, this year I turn 40 and that got me thinking. We all have childhood heroes and I have several. Yet the main one is that man with the long scarf who could save the universe with a screwdriver and a bit of string. Every child deserves a chance to discover a hero of their own. I'm dressing as mine in the hope that some of them will. That would make my 40th worth celebrating. The Tiny Lives Trust is a registered charity that helps to care for premature and sick newborn babies, their mothers and families in the Special Care Baby Unit of the Newcastle Neonatal Service based in Ward 35 of the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. 

The fund aims to provide the highest quality of care on an ongoing basis and  needs to raise at least £150,000 every year to support a range of facilities, staff, and equipment. It's time for a little help.
