Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm running my first, and categorically last full marathon on 5th May 2014. I'll be fundraising for SOS Bus, who provide night-time services for the vulnerable and homeless in Belfast. Please take a minute to visit their website at www.sosbusni.com.
Here's the blurb:
What services does SOS bus provide?
- Professional medical attention
- Conveyance to hospital, home or to other place of safety by SOS transport
- Emotional care and listening ear services
- Signposting to statutory service providers
- Refreshments - tea, coffee, soup and food
Who are the emotionally and/or physical vulnerable?
- Victims of non-violent and violent crime
- The homeless and the lonely
- Major/minor accidental injuries
- Those who have over indulged in alcohol and/or drugs
- Those becoming isolated, lost or separated from friends
- Those who are feeling depressed, suffering from a mental health issue or feeling suicidal
I'm not setting a specific fundraising target, but here's an indication of how totals raised could help:
£50 raised - could provide 5 homeless people on the streets of Belfast with a warm dry, sleeping bag
£80 raised - could provide a cup of warm soup to 571 vulnerable people on the streets of NI
£150 raised - could pay for two paramedics at the Odyssey on a busy Saturday night
£200 raised - could fuel the two SOS 67ft bendy buses and two minibuses for two weekends
£420 raised - could pay for paramedics for a full weekend
Thank you very much for your donation, and good luck to everyone running for charity on May Day.
