Story

Our story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are taking part in the ULTIMATE cycling challenge – Land’s End to John O’Groats – we are doing it for a very worthy cause and would very much appreciate your support.

So let’s start from the beginning…

I got a little bit excited when my work introduced the "Cycle to Work" scheme so went and got all the gear but I had no idea!  Then I got talking to Grant, a friend from work and a keen triathlete who has even taken on Great Britain's Ironman Challenge,.  He began to educate me and from there a passion grew and a keen cycling partnership was formed.

During our many rides we decided to take on the ULTIMATE cycling challenge, Land’s End to John O'Groats. We thought it would be an immense test to attempt; however we decided that in order to achieve it with more than a physical sense of accomplishment, we would do it for charity!

We have chosen to ride for Cynthia Spencer Hospice, a local Northampton charity that provides hospice care to those with terminal cancer as well as support for their families. The level of service they provide is first class and unfortunately we speak from personal experience.

We both work for St. Andrew’s Northampton and as Cynthia Spencer is their Charity of the Year 2014 we have been lucky enough to secure some funding towards the ride from them.  We will be accompanied by Karl Savage, Assistant Manager for Physical Recreation, who will drive our support vehicle and provide us with much needed encouragement, nutrition and massage, should we need it.

We plan to peddle around 100 miles a day and aim to complete the 973 mile challenge in 10 days.  An epic challenge but something we’re determined to complete for Cynthia.

We would like to raise as much as possible for this worthy cause....so please JUST GIVE!!! (It's just a little click of the blue button above!!)
