I’m running the Royal Parks half marathon for Making the Leap, where one of my oldest friends (Lottie!) is currently Head of Corporate Partnerships. She can’t take part because she’s expecting twins a couple of weeks before so I’m stepping in. Lottie and I were equally un-sporty at school (although she ran the full marathon last year!), and this is my USP in asking you for sponsorship – I definitely never have before. How shocked our PE teachers would be to see us now.

Making the Leap is an amazing social mobility charity, which believes that all young people should have the opportunity to develop the skills and outlook that will lift them out of poverty. It’s a brilliant cause, with a mission to transform the futures of disadvantaged young people in the UK by providing training to raise their aspirations and develop their skills, confidence and outlook to choose and succeed in a career.
