So, as some of you might know, I am about to set off for the two handed Triangle race between the UK, Ireland and France. Its a great challenge and a perfect opportunity to raise some money for a really deserving charity, the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance. 

About the event
On Sunday 15th June at midday our all female crew of myself and Jayne Toyne set off on Jayne's yacht, 'Boogie Nights' (http://www.boogie-nights.org), from Torquay for a two week yacht race to Kinsale in Ireland, then on to Treguier in France and back again to Torquay. We will cover at least 620 miles and deal with whatever the Irish sea throws at us! For more information about the race visit http://www.rtyc.org/triangle/tri2.htm. As it is a two-handed race, it will push both Jayne and I to our limits which will involve dealing with whatever whether comes our way in terms of weather and maintenance on the boat, two or three hour sleep rotas throughout the night, making the most of our 36 feet of space and even cooking can be a challenge when you are heeled over on your side!

About the charity
Most of you will know the three years ago I had a nasty motorbike accident which completely snapped my femur and which thankfully I have now fully recovered from. It was the Kent, Sussex and Surrey Air Ambulance that got me off of the road and into the helicopter to quickly take me to hospital so I can personally vouch that these guys were great and do an excellent job! This service currently operates 365 days a year, helping all sorts of emergencies, however, this service wouldn't be possible without donations from the public so I am appealing to your generous side!
