Dear friends,

Many of you have regularly supported me/ had your arms twisted over the last several years. 2020 is finally the year I leave the bright yellow sponsorship form behind and go online! 

Every year, I do the Suffolk Historic Churches Bike Ride for the village of Rendham. Rendham church is not particularly special, but it's at the centre of the village and a church has existed in some form since at least the 11th C and is listed in the Domesday Book.  That's good enough for me to want to keep it going as the most important historical building in the village (other than the pub). It receives very little other funding, and this year, its main source of income, the village fete, was cancelled due to Covid-19.

There are normally 3 of us in the village who do the bike ride, but 2020 looks like it might just be me :(  

I try to spend the whole day peddling between churches; I normally clock up about 30 churches and 65 km or so, lots of biscuit breaks and occasionally nice cakes, although maybe this year I'll have to bring my own sugar ration. I love it, I've managed to visit so many amazing Suffolk churches this way, while getting my exercise!
