Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are taking part in the Nightrider in memory of my mother Elizabeth, affectionally known as Lizzy.
She suffered from a progressive lung disease for around 17 years in total and her condition slowly worsened over the years until she was eventually on oxygen for 24 hours a day.
Even though she was very ill for many years she would push herself to take part in clinical trials at the Royal Brompton Hospital, she always said that if the research could not help her then at least it may help someone else in the future.
This bike ride is something we discussed with mum before she passed away in January 2016. I asked her what charity she would like to support and , she said "how about The British Lung Foundation."
She realised that were was a need for trials to be carried out to find new ways to help people with lung disease and that funding would help to allow these trials to go ahead.
We are not expecting people to donate lots of money, if we can raise any amount of money that will be something to go towards a worthy cause.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
