We provide a voluntary lifeboat service to save lives on or near water

Story

Evan and I are volunteering to hike 214 miles along the Southern Upland Way this spring to raise funds for Nith Inshore Rescue. This charity holds dear to both of us and we would like to help pay for the equipment needed to keep these real life hero's safe.

Our Route starts on the west coast (Portpatrick) and finishes on the east coast (Cocksburnpath). The Hike is going to take us 18 consecutive days, on some of Scotland's most demanding terrain and we'll be carrying all of the items we will require to stop and make camp every night.

We're aiming to start our adventure on 18th of June this year. Friends and family are more than welcome to liaise with us directly if they would like to tag along for a section or two (We could use the moral support!!)

Nith Inshore Rescue is an independent inshore and inland lifeboat search and rescue service serving the Upper Solway and surrounding area. They are always on call and wholly operated by a team of highly trained and professionally equipped volunteers. Your support will help them save lives. They are not linked to the RNLI and have to raise all their own funds in order to run. Their Mission is “To protect and save lives, and when life is lost do everything we can to recover loved ones for those who are experiencing loss”.

Thanks in advance for your support.
