Hiking for our lovely Ju.

In September we will be walking the coastal section of the Cleveland Way, striding out to complete 55 miles in 5 days in memory of our beautiful, caring, funny, inspiring Julie; partner, sister, aunt, friend, headteacher, colleague and frequently described as a "legend".

Our lovely Ju bravely fought against Covid-19 for 7 days, unfortunately she lost her battle and sadly passed away with the utmost dignity as an inpatient in ICU. 

We will be raising vital funds for the Mid-Yorkshire (MY) Hospitals Charity based at Pinderfields in Wakefield West Yorkshire. It was here Julie recieved her amazing care, the dignity, commitment and compassion they gave to Julie and showed us as a family was magnificent and we want to give something back to honour our Ju. The MY Hospitals Charity enhance patient care and experience across Pontefract, Dewsbury and Pinderfields Hospitals, with recent funding allowing the purchase of dedicated relative overnight rooms, pressure relieving cushions, stimulating visualite wall tiles and headscarves for patients receiving chemotherapy. These initiatives make a huge difference to patient and family experience within the hospital and would not be possible without funding from donations received via this charity. 

To us Julie was simply perfect. She loved to visit this part of the North Yorkshire coast and spent many days enjoying the amazing scenery. Our wonderful family aged between 8 months up to 70 years will be aiming to reach £1000 by completing this journey. Not forgetting Julie and Ashley's mischievous babies, Millie and Seth the Sausage Dogs, who will be completing the hike along with our family of four legged friends.
