Story
I know. Yawn. Snore. ANOTHER sponsorship request. In fact, the second from this Holland in the space of nine months. I'll be running 10.1 miles less than you sponsored me for last time. I won't be sticking your face on my muscles, wearing a chicken outfit, hula hooping or setting any land speed records. "This is rubbish!" you may be thinking. "She's backsliding. And asking me to sponsor her to do so!"
It's true. BUT, this time I'm playing the children card. I will be running the 5k accompanied by my two favourite daughters, Evie and Liv. They have flatly refused to do any running practice of any kind. One of them doesn't own any trainers and neither have a positive mental attitude. It'll be like running three miles with two reluctant cats. And if that's not worth a fiver for cancer research, I don't know what is.
In my favour is that they are both ridiculously competitive (NO idea where that comes from) and are utterly determined to beat me. We'll see about that, youth of today, won't we?
My serious bit is, of course, that I am royally fed up with cancer. I'm fed up of friends and family going through diagnosis, horrible treatments and operations and the awful stress involved. And people I really care about have lost loved ones to cancer way too early. I think most of us are in the same position. I know I am a sponsorship pest but cancer research is close to my heart and if you can donate to support that would be really marvellous.
Thanks friends. I promise I won't run anything requiring sponsorship for at least a week after this one.
