 ****** UPDATE *******

****** I'm back, and sadly it didn't all go to plan, but I refused to give up! Scroll down to the blog to read the latest updates... *****

Ladies and Gents!

Hopefully you know me, if you don't then hopefully you'll appreciate what i'm doing!

Basically I intend to ride a Motorcycle from Suffolk to Gibraltar and back again to raise as much as I can for Help for Heroes.

"And?" I hear you cry, "that's not hard!"

True, its not that hard on a normal bike but i'm not doing it on my normal bike, i'm doing it on a Honda C90 Cub with a 45mph top speed... (see pic on the left of the actual machine... impressive huh?)

Its also over a 3000 mile round trip, in fact add a couple more hundred miles and you could be in New York....

This challenge is actually pretty tough. It requires riding an average of 222 miles per day, every day for a fortnight. If I can average about 25mph (average, not top speed) I will hopefully achieve that in 9 hours every day (that DOES not include stops for food, drink toilet or fuel... in reality this will probably equate to 11hrs per day)

That also has to be an average, there are going to be days on the ferry, days up and over the Pyrenees’s mountains... when it will be that bit harder to make the minimum mileage.

Backup will be limited to a small tool kit and a well thumbed Haynes manual.

I will also be documenting the trip (hopefully filming if I can!)

ALL of the money you give will go to charity. The bike, fuel, accommodation (assuming I find some!) food etc will be paid for out of my OWN pocket.

If you want to join me you are more than welcome (although I don't blame you if you don't!) but PLEASE remember this is not going to be easy, in fact you'll probably swear a lot and wish you never bothered after numb bum sets in after an hour or so into the trip.

If you do want to join, it MUST be on a Honda C90 Cub, there's no point joining me and sniggering from the seat of your Honda Goldwing with cruise control on and the stereo blaring....

Email me if you are interested.

I leave on the 3rd Sept 2009 and will return (hopefully) 14 days later....

Lastly, please email this to whoever you think will be interested (and even those who may not be!) the more money I raise, the more will go to charity. Where its needed.
