Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have never taken up a cause in this way before. I tend to shy away from charities and I certainly don't like asking people for money. But from the first moment I started learning about the violent persecution of Christians in Iraq, children included, my heart knew I couldn't sit back this time.
As American and European Christians, we take for granted our freedom to believe as we wish. Stories of Iraqi children who would sooner die than renounce Christ have given me great pause.
What would I do at gunpoint?
The western world is only now starting to feel the impact of the violence so many middle eastern individuals have been experiencing for years now. Paris and San Bernardino are everyday occurrences for them.
I feel drawn to help the displaced Iraqi refugees because I am very much aware that the only difference between my family and those who have had to flee persecution is geography. Their children could be OUR children.
I have discovered a truly courageous and profoundly loving individual who has worked tirelessly for years at middle east reconciliation. Once the vicar of Baghdad, Canon Andrew White is now caring for the displaced Iraqis in Jordan and has sent out an "Emergency Appeal for Iraqi Refugees." Learn more about him and The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East at http://frrme.org/canon-andrew-white/.
My children and I have adopted Canon Andrew White's ministry in our prayers. But now it's time to do more. Please help me care for these families by donating to The Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle East!
Thank you, and lots of love to you all!
