Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Hair is such an important part of people's identity. Losing it through chemotherapy can be one of the most terrifying experiences. One of my clients once said that she was more apprehensive about losing her hair than undergoing a double mastectomy, such is its importance in how people are seen and see themselves.
Marie Curie offer an incredible amount of support to people throughout the various stages of terminal illness, helping sufferers and their families through some of the darkest days of their lives.
They have been there for clients, friends and family members in their hour of need. In support of those close to me and of a charity close to my heart, I am getting my hair shaved off this Friday afternoon, with all donations going directly to Marie Curie. We'll be recording it at Terrys in Whitley Bay, so keep your eyes peeled for the video this weekend!
I've always had a decent head of hair - a short back and sides in the RAF was the closest I've ever come to going bald! - but this experience isn't really about me. It's about the thousands of people who have to lose part of their identity to terminal diseases.
They need your support. Please donate what you can.
