We support those experiencing disadvantage to make and sustain positive life changes

Story

Its that time of year again folks but the good news is that
this is the last time I’ll be dodging around looking for sponsorship as this year’s Pedal for Scotland is the last one. So, it’s your last chance to sponsor me to don the lycra (not a pretty sight) and worry the general populous on a 45-mile cycle from Glasgow toEdinburgh.

Seriously over the years with your much appreciated help we’ve raised over £2000 for children and young people’s charities so this year
is our last chance to make some money for a great cause.

Given my retirement and unretirement since the last Pedal for Scotland I’ve selected Venture Trust as the charity for this year.

VT operate a range of programs for disadvantaged young people to assist to prepare them for work and education using the outdoors as a means of developing a wide range of skills which can be transferred into work and education.  They also provide similar services for veterans and other disadvantaged groups.

Given their focus on the outdoors they seem an apt choice for a cycle
ride sponsorship.

More details of their work are can be seen on their web site http://www.venturetrust.org.uk/ and this YouTube video also shows some of their work specifically with young  people  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGkaEs2QgE8&feature=youtu.be

Please give generously if you can so we can end our involvement with Pedal for Scotland with a bang
