Story
The 2nd April 2022 would have been Dad's 70th Birthday. I am walking the Surrey Three Peaks (22 miles, 1060 metres elevation, 8 hours of walking) to raise money for the Hospice at Home team in the Isle of Man who helped us to care for Dad in September. They are an incredible team of dedicated nurses, without whom we wouldn't have been able to bring Dad home for his precious final few weeks.
A little more info about the charity....
The Diana Princess of Wales Hospice Care at Home Trust (Hospice at Home) was created in 1998 by Don & Ali Westacott to provide Hospice at Home services in the Isle of Man, and funded by the Westacotts for four years. Since then the Trust has continued to fundraise to help provide this valuable service. The Trust receives no Government funding. The aim of the Trust is to provide high-quality nursing care to support the individual patient, the family, their friends, and their carers when the patient has chosen to remain at home.
