About IT'S FOR THE KIDS (ITS4TKS)
IT’s for the Kids was set up at Kings Sutton Primary Academy (KSPA) to enhance the opportunities for children, provide additional resources for the school and to help re-establish links with the local community.
The initial idea for fundraising was for the provision of IT equipment as KSPA were struggling to update the old equipment. At the start of 2017 a group of passionate parents set up the charity IT’s for the Kids (IT’s being a play on Information technology!) and pledged to raise £15,000 for iPads, computer equipment and staff training.
We were overwhelmed by the backing we received the IT provision for the children and staff at KSPA has now been brought fully up to date.
For 2018/19 we have embarked on another KSPA project - to modernise the library. The current library is small, with outdated books and doubles as a room for 1-2-1 sessions.
Our vision is to create a welcoming environment with up to date books. Where they can go with their parents after school, and where older children can learn responsibility and the love of books by volunteering in the role of pupil librarian.
Along with fundraising activities within the school, we are again looking to our local businesses and community to support our campaign. Our literary campaign has turned IT’s for the Kids, into LIT’s for the Kids. This year we are planning to raise £10,000 to deliver this project and any contributions you are able to contribute would be very gratefully received.
