Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On Sunday 8th July I'll be having another bash at the Yorkshire 3 Peaks, along with 16 other friends and colleagues. The aim is to complete it in under 12 hours, to have some fun along the way, but most importantly to raise a bit of cash towards Ryedale Special Families' new campaign to raise over £100,000 towards a move to a new home!

Since the charity was formed 20 years ago, Ryedale Special Families has provided a lifeline of support to over 550 Ryedale based families with children who have disabilities, illness and/or additional needs.

They provide information, advice and guidance, social groups, flexible care and a wide range of family activities, but the demands on their resources are ever increasing, and they need help. Their current home in Malton has served them well, but space is limited and the nature of the building extremely restrictive therefore preventing the opportunity to develop new facilities.

The answer is to find a new base with greater accessibility for the families they support, where they can create more facilities and develop new services.

Initially they are aiming to raise £100,000 which would form the deposit towards, and allow them to begin the process of looking for, their new home.

Daily life for many local families is a challenge because of having a child with a disability or additional needs. With your help, Ryedale Special Families can create a lasting legacy for the next 20 years - and beyond!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the Ryedale Special Families. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
