Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
i cant believe i was talked into this by my sister! Not because i didnt want to do my bit for charity but im scared of heights!!!
But after thinking abour how scared anyone feels with cancer, wether you are personally affected or a caring friend or relative, the impact is enormous, unimaginable for some of us.
I remember how i felt when my mum told me she had Breast Cancer and i felt like my world was collapsing around me, and there was nothing i could do! The fear and dread i felt that day is far more real and intense than a safely harnessed zip wire challenge. (im still a wee tad scared though)!! So i would really appreciate any donations you can give.
Maggie's Centres are for anyone affected with cancer. Our nearest one is based at the Western General Hospital, Edinburgh. It is a place where people are welcome when ever they need support, from just being diagnosed, or undergoing treatment, to post treatment, recurrence, end of life or in bereavement. Friends and families are also welcome. Everything Maggie's provides is free of charge, so visitors can feel welcome to access the support offered as long as they need it. The Centre recieves over 18,000 visits per year!!!
Your Support of this event would mean helping people with Cancer in very practical ways. Maggie's receives NO Government funding so must raise all the required funds each year through volunteer support and fund raising event like this one.
Well wish me luck!! And thank you for taking the time to care. xx
