Story

My uncle Andrew died of Motor Neurone Disease in January 2008, he was 41 years old.

Me, my dad, my uncle and cousins are participating in the Morrisons Great Manchester Run 2015 to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease association (MNDA). I am looking to raise as much money as possible and any donation will be much appreciated. I am hoping to raise £300 and hopefully exceed this amount if possible.

Motor neurone disease (MND) is a progressive disease that attacks the motor neurones, or nerves, in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness and wasting and ultimately death with life expectancy of around 2-5 years. There is no known cure and little to nothing is known about the disease from the causes, what actually happens when someone becomes diagnosed and how to cure it. MNDA receives no government funding and relies soley on donations and volunteers.
