SARSVL is a vital charity. They do incredibly important and difficult work supporting women and girls, in Leeds and surrounding areas, who have been affected by sexual violence at any time in their lives. Not only this but they’re also working hard to raise awareness and understanding of sexual violence, and challenge and change public attitudes about the inevitability of sexual violence against women and girls. Any funds raised will be used to sustain and hopefully further develop their services. They need and deserve all the support they can get…

So this is where I come in! Stagger in to be precise, limp to the kitchen, slice an orange and cry at my split times. The last time I ran a race was in high school, 9 years ago, when James beat me in the cross country... It was one of the saddest days of my life. Last year I decided it was about time I restored my tarnished reputation and entered the Leeds 10K. I’ve been training 3-4 times a week since in hopes of running the entire thing in a time that won’t bring great shame upon myself and my family. It’s going pretty well so far in that I have yet to deck it. I’ve paid my entry fee and bought 40 cans of tuna so there’s no turning back now…

So this is where you come in! Any money you are willing/able to donate will go a long, long way in supporting the work that SARSVL does. It’ll also make me feel a bit less daft when spending my Sunday mornings jumping over muddy puddles and swerving dogs in my bright orange coat.
