Story

100 mile run in 24 hours for the Frank Bruno Foundation and raising awareness for mental health.

Jay will be running 100 miles in 24 hours on his birthday to help those that suffer with mental health. He has the full backing of Frank Bruno and his Ambassadors naming a few, Ricky Hatton, Tyson Fury and Michael Bisping. Jay is running this solo and has a support team to help keep his safe along the route.

Running 3 and a half times the A580 East Lancs Road starting at Goodison Park @ 2pm Sunday the 4th Jan into his birthday the 5th Jan, no stopping and hopefully in 24 hours

Jay walked from Austria to Manchester solo in 2014 to raise awareness for Mental health in Men.

He then spent a month in hospital suffering with his own depression and a Suicide attempt.

He came out of hospital and vowed to help others with the same illnesses and competed in many Boxing events for the awareness of suicide and depression in Men.

2 years ago out of nowhere Jay became paralysed in Hospital from being very healthy and spent 9 months learning to walk and rehabilitation with his Boxing gym and friend Scott Mitchell who spent hours helping Jay walk again.

Not only did this man walk again, He started as a volunteer helping local people fight on white collar Boxing events and raising money for charity of which he is now head coach.

He has climbed mountains (literally) ran races for charity and even won the Human Aid Race for Palestine with a record time -This Guy could not walk 19 months prior.

He ran 29 miles in 4 hours 40 mins to help pay his friends funeral and raise awareness for life insurance

Charity football matches scoring 2 goals.

He then went through a breakup and became in his words “alone” and reached out to get help. He felt there wasn’t enough and started to read Frank Bruno book and created this challenge to run Solo for 100 miles in 24 hours to raise as much awareness and help The Frank Bruno Foundation roll this out across the country with PROPER Government funding.

This man doesn’t know it but he has done so much for those that can’t and will need all the support on the 5th January as this is a massive test for anyone.

Jay never shy’s away from things and believes he is letting everyone down at the moment as he is suffering with his own demons and STILL focused on generating as much awareness And donations as he can .

He is still running in the mornings but is having a few tough times within.

Statement from Jay “I will not let everyone down and finish the task to help those that can’t ... I don’t deserve any of the support I have as there are people with real problems and I want to be able to help them ... In life we make mistakes and have to take ownership of them and we can only do that by trying to be kind and help others ... I will run this run on my own and if I can help get the money needed and the change then that’s all I’m focusing on ... I’m taking time out of social media as I feel I need to get this run done and I am not in the best shape mentally at min, I don’t want sympathy or deserve it I just have to listen to my own advice and believe that even when it goes dark, it will be light again in the morning ... “

Don’t forget to follow Jays journey and feel free to get involved !

Any food - blankets and toiletries will help along his route !

And finally as much support along the route as possible ... Just a wave and cheer will keep this guy going.

Jay starts early ours of 4th Jan and running well into his birthday on the 5th Jan 3.5 times down the East Lancs Road A580
