Story
My Dad and I are setting up this page with the sad news that Judy, my mum, died on June 10th.
It’s funny to think that it cost our family nothing to access some frankly astonishing care, courtesy of the Myton Hospice. It’s hard to realise how important hospices are until you really need them, especially considering they are almost entirely funded by charitable donation. We are hoping that people can be as generous as possible to help us show our gratitude to an excellent organisation.
Since her diagnosis my mum attended weekly support sessions and personal counselling services. These gave us all a huge emotional crutch. When her needs became too great she was referred to the Coventry Myton Hospice. At this most difficult stage the hospice doctors and nurses were supportive, attentive and kind. There was a warm and loving atmosphere created by them and visiting friends.
Our final week with my mum was made comfortable, peaceful and loving thanks in no small part due to the work of the great people who work and volunteer at the hospice. It’s hard to place a value on the kind of things Myton can do during these sorts of times. We are incredibly grateful for their support to us and others in our position.
If you would like to join us in sharing the in memory of my mum Judy, anything you can donate to help support their work will be more than welcome.
