Thank you for visiting my fund raising page - those that know me, know that when I am not shopping or drinking wine, I am running (I've also been known to combine the shopping and running!). I love running and am regularly getting up at crazy early hours on weekends to do various races (usually in places you can never get to very easily!). When the opportunity to run the London Marathon for this great charity came up, I couldn't say no. So here I am, building the mileage, scoffing packs of Jelly babies and asking for your dosh!   

The Rhys Daniels Trust provides a home from home for families with seriously ill children; it ensures parents and families can stay close to their children and to the hospital where they are being treated. It keeps families together at a time when they need support the most.

Where did it all begin? Barry and Carmen Daniels lost their two young children, Charly and Rhys, to Late Infantile Batten's Disease. They faced a number of battles in securing treatment for the children and moved around the country for treatment. When Barry and Carmen met the Swales family, they were able to use monies donated by well-wishers to rent the Swales a flat close to the hospital where their daughter Nichola was undergoing a transplant for Juvenile Batten's Disease. This simple gesture evolved into the creation of the Rhys Daniel's Trust.

This is small charity, and a relatively simple concept and idea, but the accommodation the Rhys Daniels Trust provides is of huge importance to so many families in allowing them to stay together close to the hospital; it has an immensely positive impact.
