Last year, me and my sister Emily signed up for the 10km. Unfortunately, due to emergency surgery, Emily wasn't able to compete, so I reluctantly ran the race alone (in torrential rain, cheered on by an equally soggy father). After months of recovery, Emily now feels strong enough to give it a go this year, and I'm going to be there to support her, regardless of how much I despise running. 

I'm doing this particularly for our dad, who was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2014. He's been a total inspiration for the whole family, and as much as I complained last year and will inevitably complain this year, 10km is nothing compared to the battle he and so many others are fighting every day.
