Story
Charities in the UK, particularly smaller ones, have been hit very hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We have decided to take part in the 2.6 challenge for SSCB (Simpsons Special Care Baby Unit) who saved Charlie’s life when he was born. It really is as simple as that.
I’ve recently started working with the Board of Trustees for SSCB and am blown away by the dedication of these volunteers who all have experience on the unit. Just recently money raised has provided funds for a video system for families to communicate with babies in the unit, portable phototherapy units so babies with jaundice can have care at home and specialist training for staff. But the big project is a family facility on the unit which will make such a big difference.
It’s taken me 4 years to *start* to come to terms with Charlie’s birth and I have to pinch myself to believe he’s here and able to take part in this fundraising.
Anyone who knows Charlie will appreciate his love of singing. He has an eclectic taste in music! He will choose which tune to sing for the next 26 days and I will share it on Instagram. I say tune rather than song, as I can’t guarantee lyrics! If you enjoy his efforts, please donate to our page and all the proceeds will go to SSCB. Wish US luck 😀
