We are raising money for FareShare Sussex, a fantastic local charity that tackles food poverty, reduces food waste and helps those from disadvantaged backgrounds gain confidence and skills through a volunteer programme.

Fareshare receives surplus food from food companies that would otherwise go to waste. It is then delivered to local charities in refrigerated vans by volunteers, where it is transformed into thousands of meals or food parcels every week.

Fareshare relies on donations to pay for the petrol in the vans that collect and deliver food, keeps the warehouse and kitchens up and running and supports community projects and events. To put your donations into perspective:

£5 pays for the delivery of 25 meals & saves 10.5kg of food from being wasted. £30 pays for a delivery providing 150 Meals & saves 63kg from going to waste. £100 provides 500 meals & prevents 210kg of food from being wasted.

We'll be running our first ever half marathon and are pretty apprehensive about the hilly route around Reigate. AND IF THAT'S NOT ENOUGH we are going to be taking on Tough Mudder Full (10 Miles of gruelling army assault course) just one week after the half marathon...What were we thinking!?

We are going to push ourselves to train as hard as we can over the coming weeks. Any donations will really help with our motivation to get out and train through rain, pain and occasional hangovers.
