We harness the positive power of nature to help improve people's mental wellbeing

Story

On 13th June 2020, we will be taking on the Celtman. The Celtman is an Ironman-length triathlon in Northwest Scotland, encompassing a 3.4km swim in the icy water of Loch Shieldaig, a 200km cycle across the remote Northwest Highlands, and a cross-country marathon run taking in the mountains of Spidean Coire nan Clach and Ruadh-stac Mor. The 245km triathlon is one of the most challenging races in the UK. We will be racing the Celtman in support of the Wilderness Foundation UK. The Wilderness Foundation aims to change lives for the better through outreach programmes that inspire young people who are facing challenges in life. The Wilderness Foundation supports over 5,000 young people per year through programmes such as Turn Around, Imbewu Scotland and Out There; all programmes that provide an opportunity for young people to build confidence, gain skills and experience the outdoors. We are three friends who played rugby together at university, and we are supporting the Wilderness Foundation as we are all passionate about the outdoors: whether that is hiking, camping, climbing, cycling, or swimming. We also believe that time spent outdoors acts as natural therapy and builds valuable life skills. As the Celtman is a remote race in the wild landscapes of Wester Ross, it provides the perfect opportunity to fundraise for the Wilderness Foundation. We hope that you will support our aim of competitively racing the Celtman through donating to the Wilderness Foundation. Your donations will motivate us during six months of early starts, cold swims and rainy bike rides, as well as during the race itself! All of your donations will help the Wilderness Foundation to transform vulnerable lives and empower people to conserve nature. With thanks in advance, Dean, Josh and Mike
