Well just done my last long training ride 180km, London to Brighton and back...about 140km in I could only think of the holiday with the family and longing to be on the sun-loungers with a beer! ... Finished the ride is good time ... training done ... On to next week and the real thing. Thanks for all the sponsorship, keep it coming!

After a 100km training ride I got home to a brilliant surprise - awesome TDF birthday cake! Now that will replace the burnt off calories.

Training going week. Getting the km in ok but someone keeps putting hills in the way - at least the going back downhill is fun!

That's 205 km training over the week. All felt fine until the last 200km :-)

Like the mad man I am (as is Goochie (Simon) for that matter) looking forward to taking on the 'Gauntlet' cycle event on September 9th. The Gauntlet is in the super league in terms of UK sportive challenges offering an incredible 9000ft of climbing in 200km of riding. Aiming to complete the 200km in around 8hrs (15mph) so your sponorship will really help spur me on, and raise funds for a fantastic charity organisation, Matthew's Friends.
