Story

This is for our Dad……..on the 30th of October 2020 we lost our Dad to Oesophageal cancer. A cancer that took him from us so quickly. As we get closer to his one year anniversary we want to spend the next few weeks raising money for the Oesophageal Cancer Fund. For the month of October myself, Deirdre, Eileen and Maeve will walk 200km with a very special walk as we get closer to the finishing line. This Sunday we will be cracking out the last few kms. We will be walking from Donnybrook to Rolestown this Sunday. It is a special walk as we are walking from our Dads family home in Donnybrook to our Mams family home in Rolestown in North County Dublin. During their dating years in the 70s Dad walked out to Rolestown a few times to meet our Mam, all the way from Donnybrook.. The things you did for a date in those days:) We want to do this in memory of our Dad and the amazing 42 years of marriage they celebrated together. I'm sure they both will be walking with us in spirit on Sunday.

Lollipop Day, OCF's flagship annual fundraising event, could not go ahead in its traditional form this year due to Covid-19 restrictions, leaving OCF 50% behind their annual fundraising target. I’d love you to support my 5050OCF fundraising challenge to help bridge this gap and raise the funds necessary for the continued running of the crucial, OCF funded Barrett's Oesophagus Registry & Bio Bank and the Neo-AEGIS trial. Lets get those in our network digging deep for an absolutely vital oesophageal cancer cause.
