Story
I'm joining Cancer Research UK's Race for Life this year as part of the activities to celebrate my 50th birthday.
My dad died 14 years ago of rectal cancer at the age of 59 and I'm sad he won't be here to see me celebrate my 50th birthday on the 23rd of June.
I have also recently lost a number of friends to cancer at very young ages - many of them under the age of 50.
We need to continue to work hard in finding cures for this terrible disease and stop the untimely death of young people who still have their lives ahead of them and more to contribute to society and to their community.
Please join the fight by digging deep and sponsoring me - it's quick, easy and totally secure.
Events like this are vital in funding Cancer Research UK's life-saving work into preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer. By sponsoring me, we can unite and create an army that cancer can't ignore. By sponsoring me, we will beat cancer sooner.
