Jungle Ultra marathon · 26 May 2013

We're dedicated to beating blood cancer. We fund research and support those affected. Since 1960, we've invested over £500 million in blood cancer research, transforming treatments and saving lives. The day we beat blood cancer is now in sight and our researchers are determined to finish the job.

Story

So here it is … the Jungle Ultra Marathon.

I'm heading to Peru to run 230km in 5 days from the Andes to the Amazon.

I'll be wearing my Vivos (vivobarefoot.com) to take on the tough jungle trails, mountain roads and village tracks. The race starts at 10,500ft in the Cloud Forest and ends deep in the Amazon Jungle below.

I'll be spending each night in a hammock with the native Jaguars, Monkeys, Tapirs, Parrots, Macaws and Peccary, not to mention to smaller animals and insects… I'll have my phone with me so please email (jamie.page@me.com) or tweet me (@snowtoast) to keep me company!

I'll be running for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research who do a bloody good job and are particularly important to me.

Their life-saving research is focused on finding causes, improving diagnosis and treatments, and running groundbreaking clinical trials for all blood cancer patients.

For everyone who donates I will send a personal message from the Jungle.
