Story
In October 2014 I completed the Great Birmingham Run - my first ever half marathon! Unfortunately, just 4 days later I was given the devastating news that I had breast cancer and needed radical surgery. Following a very difficult year, I am pleased to be getting back to my previous activity levels. The thought of getting back to running kept me going through some dark days, and especially being able to do the same Great Birmingham Run one year on means a great deal to me.
I may not be fast, it may not be pretty, I am behind where I should be in my training, but I can put one foot in front of the other and that's what matters!
Breast Friends Sutton Coldfield are an amazing local charity which provides friendship, emotional and practical support for those going through this awful journey. They also help to raise awareness of breast cancer and encourage self checking, leading to more early diagnosis and treatment.
It would be great if you could donate and share my Page so I can raise as much as possible to help them offer support to breast cancer patients to ensure no one goes through cancer alone. It doesn't matter how much you donate, it could be the price of a glass of wine, or a bottle, or more, anything is appreciated!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Alternatively, you can text BFSC20 and the amount you would like to donate to 70070.
A massive Thank You for your support. Wish me luck - I'll need it!
