On Saturday 29th March myself & Suzie McGuire (Clyde 1 DJ) took the plunge by Shark Diving, with one of nature’s most amazing and fearsome predators.
The 4.5 million litre Shark Pool is home to over 2,000 aquatic animals and eleven species of shark including Nurse Hounds, Angel Sharks, Tope and Sand Tiger sharks the largest of which is 10-foot long and appropriately named Tinkerbell.
Don't underestimate this challenge. Sharks are one of the most feared of all predators and spending 30 minutes swimming beside them was no mean feat.
Sand Tiger Sharks (Carcharias taurus)
The sand tiger shark is a member of the mackerel shark family and can reach up to 3.2 meters in length.
Tope (Geleorhinus galeus)
Tope are an extremely fast swimming shark and can grow up to 2 meters in length.
Angel Sharks (Squatina squatina)
The angel shark is an ambush predator and will lie in wait for unsuspecting prey
or actresses, to venture close enough before being ambushed.
